Brief info

I have been an Early Childhood teacher for 19 years. For 17 years of those years I have working at Little People Day Care Center. I currently work in the Pre- Kindergarten, have experience working with all ages.

I have obtained a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood from both East Carolina University and North Carolina Central University. NCCU is where I received my Birth – Kindergarten license also. In addition to that, I also have a master’s degree in Early Childhood from Walden University. To help support other teachers, I serve on the Education and Compensation Advisory Committee through Child Care Services Association.

I come from a close nit, kind of big family. I am the oldest of six kids, four girls and two boys. I help care for my disabled mom as well as my younger siblings. I keep my nephews and nieces a lot of times. This can be a lot of fun sometimes. I have been married for 14 years and I have two daughters; ages nine years old and 17 years old. My husband is an over the road trucker and the founder of East Side Ryders Motorcycle Club. This has also become one of my hobbies, motorcycles. We all love to travel, anywhere. The beach is our absolute favorite place to go. Music is all around hobby. Reading books is my “go to” hobby when I’m alone. I love listening to music throughout the day. I love finding new and different things/activities for my family to do and try.

Our philosophy is that children should learn through play. To explain it better, people remember the “good times” they had that included laughter, a good feeling and someone special that help make the moment memorable. This is how play is viewed. Play helps develop all areas of development.
